Definition

(1) (metrological traceability) property of a measurement result whereby the result can be related to a reference through a documented unbroken chain of calibrations, each contributing to the measurement uncertainty 

(2) (metrological traceability) property of a measurement result relating the result to a stated metrological reference (free definition and not necessarily SI) through an unbroken chain of calibrations of a measuring system or comparisons, each contributing to the stated measurement uncertainty
 
(3) ability to trace the history, application or location of an object, a product or a service
