Definition

The functional entity that provides the services and functions required to run and monitor the archive system on a day-to-day basis. Archive operations encompasses both hardware and software and includes the execution and control of the applications, system monitoring, anomaly reporting, error recovery, regular maintenance and upgrades of hardware and archiving software, activity reporting and the generation of statistics.
