Dear CEOS SAR Cal & Val WG Members,
Further to previous announcement of the next CEOS SAR Cal & Val 2026 workshop, which will be co-hosted by CSIRO and Geoscience Australia in Perth, Australia, from 30 November to 4 December 2026we would like to inform you that we are now ready to receive your abstract submissions by sending a PDF abstract as an email attachment to ceos-sar-2026@csiro.au

- Space-based and Ground-based RFIs
- Use of AI for Cal/Val and SAR System Monitoring
- SARCalNet
- AIS-based Validation of SAR-based Vessel Detection and Velocity Estimation
- Calibration of SAR System Parameters for Geophysical Applications (e.g. sea surface height, radial ocean current velocity, terrain surface deformation, biomass/forest structure, soil moisture etc)
- Analysis Ready Data Products (ARD)
Please note the following Important Dates:
- Initial Announcement: 27 May 2026
- Abstract submission open: 1 July 2026
- Registration open: 3 August 2026
- Deadline to Abstract submissions: 11 September 2026
- Notification of Acceptance (Presentation or Poster): 9 October 2026
- Registration close: 8 November 2026
- Workshop: 30 November - 4 December 2026
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
Those wishing to contribute to the Workshop may do so by submitting an abstract relevant to one or more of the above-mentioned topics. Contributors may select their preferred presentation format as either an oral presentation, or a poster.
Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Workshop's Scientific/Technical Committee. Contributors will then be notified of the acceptance of their submission. Abstracts will be used to finalize the Workshop's program.
The abstract should be submitted as PDF considering the following:
- Be written in English;
- Not exceed one page (except for References), in letter (8.5 X 11 inch) or A4 format;
- Include a header with the following:
- Title;
- Name(s) of author(s) [Please indicate last name in capital letters];
- Email address of corresponding author.
- Institutional affiliation;
- Complete mailing address;
- Underline the name of the corresponding author;
- In bold, indicate the name of the presenting author;
- Include the preferred contribution format, as either: a) an oral presentation, or b) a poster.
- Include suggested topic(s) of your contribution, from the above-mentioned list.
Please submit your abstract as an attachment to an email to the Workshop secretariat at: ceos-sar-2026@csiro.au
